Pauline has new beagle puppies

And my kids loved them all!  They got to name them: Cora, Rosie, Sunshine, Buddy and B.J. (for Bo Jr.).  DF especially fell in love with B.J. He was even in tears about leaving him behind.  The last thing we need is another dog, but it was hard to say goodbye.  We will be going back to visit our new friends SOON!

In this picture, they said these dogs are brother and sister, and we are brother and sister :) 

Day Date with my Isaac

No running errands, no being drug along to big brother/sister activities, just an Isaac approved day.  Trip to the zoo, and the Allbritton girls met us there, and to All Aboard for lunch.   Other than our brief getting separated from each other at the zoo (terrifying for us both) we had a a wonderful time!

Ikey and I made our rounds Lakeside last week for lunch with the bigs.  We both enjoyed it!!  Nora also got her birthday present early from Mammers and got her new yellow kayak!  She loves it and it's just the right size for her to navigate.  This weekend the kids and I took off on their kayaks and my new paddle board and Isaac hitched a ride with Nora and on the front of my board.  I see lots of adventures like that ahead! Nora also got to attend and co-host a wedding shower this weekend and was the PERFECT hostess!

Bugz, the 2nd Grade Musical and the star of the show....the Stink Bug!

DF had the main role in the the Bugz musical that the 2nd grade puts on.  He had the most speaking parts and the most stage time of all.  I remember when he came home from school and said; "Mom, I have good news, I got the stink bug!"   I was super confused that this was a coveted role, but now I get it.  He practiced, and did great.  He even had a costume malfunction and handled that beautifully. He was the cutest stink bug I ever did see.  We are so proud of this boy.  He is pure joy to be around and has a heart of gold.

Nora's First Field Day!

Nora had Track and Field Day and it was such a fun day.  Windy and cold, but fun!  She had a great time, and we were so proud of her.  No blue ribbons for the Bass girl, and she seems to be our most competitive child and she wanted one big time.  But a lot of it is luck of the draw with the relays and she didn't have much luck.  However, she cheered on her teammates and kept a positive attitude and never got upset or discouraged.  That kindness and good attitude is much more important than winning.  It's a fun day, hard for some, but it teaches good lessons, especially in a world of participation awards.  You see all sorts of personalities come out, and some really struggle with the ribbon colors, but she shined in sportsmanship!!!

IWB

My Ikey man is growing and many days, it feels like he's a threenager.  He wants what he wants, says what he thinks, feels with all of his heart, blames me when he does things wrong (I peed in my pants, but why didn't you take me to the bathroom), I wonder if that ever ends?, and there is not much negotiating when he's made his mind up, he also seems to like mischief and pushes the envelope for fun.....yay!   In fact, this week he came in pouting, arms crossed and said "MOM, you didn't do what I screamed you to do!"  (Uh, no and I won't).  BUT, he also kills you with kindness, is the best sharer, saves bites of his breakfast for his brother and sister while they are at school, lights up when he sees them, says he loves his family and wanted that on his birthday cake, randomly says I love you 50 times a day. He is snuggly, happy, charming, and I'm toast for that boy.  He doesn't like staying in his bed, but once he falls asleep, he's great! Eating is his favorite sport, but he likes to play rough, fish, play babies with his sister, loves animals, sleeps in a pull up but keeps it dry all night, prefers to be in his undies and barefoot.  He talks NON-STOP.  If I ever stop talking back, even if there is nothing to say, he says 'MOOOM, why you not talking to me?!"
He stared (Drop - In days ) Mother's Day Out at Westminster Presbyterian and loves it.  He was so ready, seriously asking daily to go to school.  It is small, and sweet, and he was thrilled to go and take his new lunchbox.  Oh, the little things :)  Now, don't grow up too quickly, baby boy.  You are my last baby and I've babied you for sure.  We have to make it last.......

Lake living

Lake living with these three means after school swims, boat rides, and multiple sink baths, and we are all loving it!!!  Can't wait for summer on the water, I think it will be the best yet.
