These Santa sweatshirts (that my mom made for me to wear as a dress in the last 80s- early 90s) have stood the test of time. The picture on the left is us at a party when we were 29, the one on the right we are 39. Franklin only for one more month!!

Christmas party day
Parents aren’t invited to school parties any more which is sad to me, but they seemed to have a lot of fun. Nora had a winter wonderland theme and made ornaments and crafts and loved every minute of it.
We got together with our supper club and Nora had third grade girls over to make Christmas crafts and then go down and carol at the nursing home down our street. We did that last year (the caroling part a surprise) and Nora wants to make it a tradition. I like visiting that particular nursing home because not only is it just down the road from us, it’s where Aunt Lois spent some time and I’d go visit her there. I always think of her when I’m there.
A lot of the girls get shy and nervous but I could also see a change in that this year and they seemed more comfortable. They got very into their singing too and wanted to add motions and special lead parts. I hope they remember it when they are older.
Moms take kids to Branson
Whoop whoop- ha!
The men went to south Texas to hunt so we loaded up the kids and got a big VRBO house and made our own fun. Alecia got sick and couldn’t join us but the McBride boys came with us and we had lots of fun. We did the Dixie stampede, an indoor park / zip line place, but our most fun was Marci’s idea. We went to a (cool) flea market and each spent up to $5 on a gift and then had a dirty Santa gift exchange. We laughed so hard. The kids loved picking out weird and creepy gifts but didn’t seem to remember that is what they’d also be getting in the game. Some shed tears over it but we had to remind them it was just for fun. Hilarious. Then we made a group tick tock dance video and did the see saw challenge unsuccessfully. We had more fun than we expected!
Ikey lost a tooth
Isaac lost his first tooth- a bottom one. I got to pull it and he was so proud, he made me text Ms. Roberson immediately to tell her. He looks so cute. The note his sister wrote to the tooth fairy was especially cute too.
Duck camp
Franklin joined a duck camp with friends this year and we went and spent a little time down there after thanksgiving. The kids loved riding in the ranger and playing in the wide open spaces.
Thanksgiving in Fayetteville
We spent thanksgiving eve in Fayetteville this year. We went to see the lights on the square and Ikey got a pony ride which is always a favorite of mine.
We drove down to spend thanksgiving day at Meme and Grandpas and then went over for leftovers at Mammers that night in our pjs. Good stuff. I didn’t get any pictures from thanksgiving day this year though.
Girls and momma sleepover
Nora and I got to go to have a big sleepover and see Annie in Little Rock. We stayed with Amy and Louisa and Cassie spent the night with us too. We had a blast staying up too late, telling stories, hearing giggles and watching several dances the girls made up!
Arvest Family Day
Arvest had a family fun day at camp winnamoka in Arkadelphia. DF had a basketball game so we watched the first half of that and then had to leave him behind so he couldn’t join us. The zip line was open and Isaac Bass was the youngest and smallest to ever go down it in camp history they told us. He was brave and loved it and went twice! 😲😊
We had a great day getting to know more Arvest families. Thankful for franklins job!
