Easter was on April Fools this year

Easter fell on April 1st this year and my love for both of these holidays is a lot.  My Grands Ellen especially loved pranks and every year would try to call me and get me, I also have a love of trying to get people, and this year it was my kids....

They forgave me,  it was epic (DF's new favorite word)!!!  I hid the Easter bunny's goodies and replaced it with my own basket of cleaning supplies and put carrots and lettuce in the plastic eggs instead of candy.  They all three had the reactions I predicted: DF was quiet, disappointed but didn't say it, really sweet about it, Isaac was confused, and Nora was FURIOUS.  I also tried to super glue the golden eggs but that didn't work and when they opened it, again not happy.  But they got more $ for being good sports than what would have been inside.  It was a dreary day, but the rain held off so we could do the traditional hunt and piñata.  Thankful for traditions that started when I was a child with April Fools on the Johnson side and piñata's on the Ligon side are things my kids get to enjoy and count on each year too.

We dyed eggs and had an egg hunt at the Country Club with the Bunny on Saturday and it was a beautiful day for it.

Camp out

For the last weekend of Spring Break, we went camping at Lake Degray.  This year we did not rent an RV but brought the tent!  It was my first time to sleep in a tent in many years, and Nora and Isaac's first times.  It was not as comfy as the RV, but will be a fun memory waking up and unzipping the windows and looking up at the tree tops together laughing and hearing the birds.  We sat around, played, watch the kids bike and have multiple wrecks and went Geo Cashing and the guys played golf out there.  Fun times!!!

Ikey gets a staple

He slipped in the shower and split his chin open.  He got one staple and was super brave but it was a hard night on a us all!!! 

Franklin speaks to Nora's class

For career day, Franklin was asked to speak to Nora's class and explain banking.  He has coloring books and makes it really fun for the kids.  Nora introduced him to her class and got to sit up there with him while he spoke.  Franklin said she was pretty shy, but he was proud to be there and Nora was proud to have him.

Sweet stuff.

Garvan Gardens

We went to see the tulips at Garvan Gardens and it was beautiful, a must see if you are near the area.  They planted thousands of bulbs of all colors and it is a sight to be seen.  We went with a new family in town, the Hethcoxes.  It was their first time to go and they loved it as well.
