Princess 101

                                  

It was Nora's turn for a show in Little Rock, so Mammers, Nora, and I went to Disney on Ice on Sunday afternoon. Nora doesn't know much about Princesses, she likes Minnie Mouse and she usually watches what her brother watches which is Batman, Backyardigans, etc. so this was her indoctrination.

She saw lots of pretty Princesses yesterday though and she was pretty memorized for a while. She got tired at the end, but so did we.

It was a fantastic show with impressive skating and air tricks and even fireworks. It was a fun girly day to be with Nora! Mammers stayed up late on Saturday night making Nora a pretty pink and purple satin cape and a tutu and hair bow to match. It was so cute that everywhere she went people oohed and awed and I'm pretty sure Nora felt like a Princess herself, which she is! We also saw another little girl princess, Lilly and her mommy, Randi. So fun to see them!

 

DFB's first baseball game ever

David Franklin is playing ball! He is on Hall and Koppel's Cardinals team.

DFB's first baseball game was a success and just about exactly what you would think, with twirls and yawns in the out field, gloves on the head and some good hits and he got to run the bases each time!

He had a good time, and liked it and that's what it's all about! He liked his uniform and being with his friends best of all... oh and the snacks and frozen yogurt afterwards!

One of the sidelines' favorite moments was when DF saw Nora and ran off the field for a hug and would come back and talk to her through the fence. She idolizes him so it was hard for her not to be on the field or in the dug out with "bubby too!" The love they have for each other is something that I cherish and I hope they do too, well into their adulthood. It's a gift to share your childhood and life with siblings.
I'm one proud mommy, but not because of any ball or what they might do with it, but because of who these kiddos are on the inside and both of their big hearts.

Cousin Robbie's 8th birthday!

Yesterday we went to War Memorial Stadium for Robbie Vaught's birthday party. It was such a cute and fun party and cake and ice cream was in the locker room. David Franklin thought it was very cool to be a the "real" field where the Razorbacks play. We will always remember Robbie's birthday because Franklin and I got married on his first birthday! Yes, today our 7 year anniversary and we have been so blessed in the 7 years. Grateful!!

We met some buddies today at Garvan Gardens for a playdate.  They tromped all over that place, and all through the flowers even though we begged them to stay on the path! :)

 

It was time to go when Nora started losing her clothes one article at a time.  First sweater, then boots, then socks and I stopped her just barely without a fit at her dress.  What can I say, she loves to be free and she just might be a flower child!

David Franklin thought we were really at the Zoo when we saw this gorgeous peacock!

Easter Day

 

Nora looked precious in her bubble dress and would twirl happily if you told her so. David Franklin was especially dapper in his trousers and suspenders that were his Grandpa's from 60ish years ago. No one can wear suspenders like the Bass men!

What an Easter Sunday! We woke up bright and early to see what the Easter Bunny brought. He left lots of chocolate candy, some small toys and pjs! Then we were off to early church, the Country Club for lunch with Mammers, the Basses and Vaughts, then back to our house for an egg hunt, cupcakes and a piñata. We ended the day at Barnetts for lamb cake. It was a full and happy day.

Nora needed Mommy to warm up a bit at first. David Franklin did NOT and was thrilled to see him!

The rain can't slow us down, or not too much I should say.  Nora was insisting on playing in the puddles and slipped and got a skinned up knee.  She was really tough but it hurt and it hurt a Mommy's heart too. 

 

 

We met some friends at the Country Club for lunch today and the kids had an indoor hunt and the bunny came around to the tables.  Nora didn't decide until afterwards that she liked him.  David Franklin knew right away that they were buddies and hugged his leg immediately!  They got lots of candy (again) and had a great time.  Easter has been a big holiday for us this year, and the fun keeps on going tomorrow!  The significance of Easter is honestly mind blowing to me, and I'm so happy and thankful for our Lord who gave his life for us all to live eternally with Him. I was dreaming last night of all of the family I get to be reunited with because of it!  He is RISEN indeed!
