Weekend

Easter is coming! 

This weekend we went to some church friend's house for an Easter Egg hunt and the kids had a blast- they all got a ton of eggs and candy.  They cooked out hamburgers and we all had such a good time.  On Sunday the weather was so pretty that we sat outside all day long, the kids swam in the lake and we decided to go ahead and dye our eggs.  It's a little early, but that's ok, we will just destroy them with golf clubs, just like we did every Easter when I was a kid at Mam and Pap's.

Easter has always been the holiday we follow traditions the closest- I'm not sure why other than we have some different traditions but it just doesn't feel like Easter without whacking a hard boiled egg to smithereens with a golf club.  I know.... strange!

Blaine's baby sprinkle!

Blaine is having her third baby in May and wanted a little getaway before he arrives, so we had a spa day and pampered our girl! She invited some of her friends from Searcy and some from college and it was a good crew.   I met some for the first time and others are some of my dearest!  They came to my house and it was wonderful weather!  We sat outside and chatted and then went to DeLuca's pizza for dinner.  Very low key and just what she was looking for.  So fun to see Rachael, and the laughs never stop with her!

Spring Break Stay-cation!

We had sleepovers galore and played local tourists while the kids were out of school on spring break, we swam in the lake, went to bumper cars, and indoor zip line, Chucky Cheese pizza and the Trampoline Park, we went to the farm and fished and then we went camping at Lake Ouachita with the Halls and VanBebbers and had the best time- we rented RVs which is the way to go!  I can do that again and they kids played from sun up to sun down and made their own fun.  It was a blast!  We were all sad to go back to school and now have spring fever and are ready for summer break!

Barnett wedding in Hilton Head!

A couple of weekends ago, Franklin and I went to Hilton Head for Megan Barnett's wedding!  She is so happy and in love and I'm so excited for them.  She and I grew up together and are like family, so it was a great day filled with lots of love.  Not to mention the beautiful setting!!!

Weekend fun with old friends

I just realized how behind I am on my blogging so I'm going to play catch up!  

A few weeks ago, the Puryears came to visit and we snuck out for a couple of house to the races.  We had lots of fun family time and really enjoyed our visit!  And we even won a little bit of $!

That Sunday Nora and I went with my friend, Amy and her daughter Louisa to see the musical Sister Act- super cute and the girls were up dancing and loving every minute!

I am so blessed by sweet friendships in my life, they are so important to me and getting to get the kids together is icing on top~

When the big kids are at school...

This guy gets all of the attention!  And Daddy was home on Monday for Presidents' Day so we took the fishing boat out and did some fishing.  We did not have any luck with the fish, but this boy loved going to the bait shop and getting junk food snacks!  He also loved the minnows and kept kissing them.....eww!  He is so stinking CUTE though!  I even got a little practice with the trolling motor.  I learned on my dad's john boat but it's been many years since I've driven one. It's just as easy and fun as I remembered.  DF is learning now too! The Basses are loving lake life, and can't wait for summer!
