Church Easter Egg Hunt and picnic

Last night was the church egg hunt. It was a beautiful warm day and got these kids super excited about Easter coming up!
Isaac slept through all of it in the baby carrier on my chest.
Stopping the running around to eat dinner was hard. They were so excited with friends, and candy and bounce houses they didn't stop moving for one second and were both red faced when we left.
DF and Hudson
Nora and her friend Miley
Herndon, Heiple, McBride, Choate and Bass kids
DF and Avery LOVE each other. (We walked out and left the Easter baskets on the table at home of course so it was a plastic sack for DF).
Nora borrowed a basket and was thrilled with the eggs she found.

The Johnsons meet Ikey boy

We met Leslie, Jack and my dad in Little Rock to get together for a visit,  introduce them to the littlest Bass, and let the kids swim at the indoor pool at their hotel.  I think Isaac was a hit and they all love the new edition to the family.

The swimming was also a hit and these water bugs didn't want to get out.  They all kept saying they wish it was longer time

Isaac's 2 months old

This big guy is 2 months old today! And I'm sad to say he also has his first ear infection, which is actually a double.
I mean really SAD to say. This crazy momma would keep him in a bubble if I could after Nora's hard baby years of getting sick so often.   All of our family seems to have either a runny nose, bad cough or both right now.  COME ON SUMMER!

It was killing his big sister that he was getting his picture taken and not her, so she joined in the fun too.  She loves being in pictures and she now loves taking them as well.

Here is a selfie she took with my phone yesterday; isn't it a beauty? :)

Sisterly love

Nora and Isaac have some good time together on Mondays and Fridays when it's just them at home with me and David Franklin goes to school. (Nora and DF go on T/Th). Nora loves to hold "her baby" and rock him, sing him songs, play with him on his activity mat, and she even climbed in his lounging chair and covered them up with his blanket so they could snuggle. Isaac is adored by his big brother and sister, he has no idea.

They even visited the Easter Bunny together in a surprise visit to the mall. We didn't expect to see the bunny! I will be taking DF to see him too, don't worry.

DFB on the front page news!!

David franklin and some of his classmates made the front page of the paper on Monday. It was from St. Luke's trike-a-thon to raise money for Arkansas Children's Hospital. This is his third time his picture has been in the local paper in his five short years. He said "I'm famous!" Although he doesn't even know what famous means and I'm pretty sure someone at school told him that.

His picture was right below Clinton's picture which was taken at a fundraiser Franklin and I attended on Saturday night with the Basses and Vaughts.

The boys get check ups

David franklin needed a physical and immunization shots for kindergarten. He had some anxiety about getting shots (talked about it the whole day and told his teacher at st Luke's first thing) but he was very brave!!
He got a great report on development and he is just above average 50% on both height and weight for his age.  He got his favorite treat afterwards, an Oreo milkshake :)

Isaac went for his 2 month check up and was 14 pounds and 8 oz. (The Dr. Said, he's such a big boy! He's not built like the rest of the Basses, but DF was also 14 pounds at 2 months!) He is in the 93rd % for weight and is 24 inches long, 95% for height and head circumference is 29.

He has some fluid on his left ear we are hoping drains before turning into an infection. He also got a great report! So thankful!

Book Club at the Races

Nora's book club got to visit the horses in the barns, had a race named after them, meet some jockeys, got their story read to them and signed by the author about a girl horse. The book is called Run Like a Girl. Such a fun day for the whole family!
