Nora's 11 Months
My baby girl is 11 months today! Oh how we love her so, but I will write her one year love letter next month.
Today, I will give you an update on her 11 months. She is full of life and wants to be in the thick of things. She is busy, busy, busy and never. stops. moving. If she is still in my lap, she's seconds away from sleeping. She has gotten pretty picky on who holds her these days. She really prefers momma or daddy, Ms. Shelia, or grand. She's generous in giving away her love and kisses though and if you are holding her, beware a slobbery, wet kiss might be coming your way! She likes to just go right in for it and especially to older men...uh oh! :)
She weighs, about 20 pounds, maybe a couple over.
She eats, mostly table food (vegetables, fruits and meats, cheerios, etc) and 4 bottles a day. She has been taking Similac Soy based formula, but we are currently trying a switch to the hypoallergenic kind because we read that might help with ear infections.
She wears a size 3 diaper and 12 month clothing
She sleeps 2 times a day for naps. She usually takes a longer morning nap than her afternoon nap which I would switch if I could. She goes down about 7:30-8:00 at night and sleeps until around 6:30-7:00 in the morning. Her sleeping is only interrupted if she is sick (ears have been super difficult for her and interfere with her sleeping the most).
She takes a paci only at bed/nap time and only for a few minutes. She has not gotten too attached to it- hooray! She likes her silky blankets by her face when she sleeps.
She says mostly Dada, Bye bye, Mama, and Uhh-Uhh (as in no).
She has only two bottom teeth.
She loves outside, tries to climb on everything, she is taking several steps in a row but isn't technically "walking" yet. She is close though! She is smiley and sweet and loves to hug you tight. She is beautiful, I truly look at her face and eyes and am captivated. She is pure light and joy!

Happy Easter 2012

Today was a big day, and I woke up pretty under the weather and not feeling very well but I had to rally because we had a full day ahead. It was Nora's first Easter, our 6th year wedding Anniversary, and little Robbie's 7th birthday! We had lots of celebrating to do!
We woke up bright and early to see what the Easter Bunny brought! We got dressed and headed to early church. While we were there I was so overcome with emotion because of the love Christ has for us and the suffering he went through for us. I am so grateful for the promise of the resurrection!
After church Nora and I took naps and then we all headed up to the Country Club for lunch with Meme, Grandpa, Mommie Boo, Mammers, and the Vaughts. Then we went to Mammers house for the birthday party, egg hunt, and piƱata.
It was great fun and a special day indeed.
Yesterday, we were also at the Country Club for a big egg hunt and to visit the Easter Bunny. David Franklin was thrilled to see him and ran right up to him. Nora wasn't quite as impressed. :)

Handsome Easter Eggs
David Franklin and I decorated Easter eggs while baby sister took her morning nap. We made quite the mess which is half the fun and our eggs became crocodiles in the colored swamps. His imagination is in full gear and it's so much fun to hear who we are at any given time....While we were coloring eggs, he was "super red frog" and I was "super white frog" based on the colors of our shirts and the fact he was playing with a toy frog right before we started.
While the stickers that came in the packet were ok, they weren't as cool as he was hoping for so we used our own Toy Story ones and his favorite one is a Buzz Lightyear, yellow one. We used the ducks and bunny stickers to make one for Nora. :)
When I called the eggs pretty, I was sternly corrected that these eggs were not pretty, they were Handsome! They are handsome eggs indeed.

iPhone pics Catch Up:
Catch up with iphone pics:
We've been to 2 Easter Egg Hunts, outside swinging and playing and picnicking a lot, we had friends in for a baby shower for baby McCoy and the really exciting news; we have 4 new "pets".
They are catapelliers named, thunder and lightening, and thunder and lightening. He "loves them very much." He said Bella is our pet and the Thunder and Lightenings are his.
I had to draw the line at bringing this turtle home but this boy loves animals and bugs and anything that moves.
He did say he "wished he had a sister that talked" this morning, so maybe not everything....
Soon enough I bet we will have another one jibber jabbering all day long.

Impromptu trip to the beach!
My mother is truly a one in a million. Last weekend I told her I really wish we could go to the beach for a few days during our Spring Break. Well, after a full day of looking for last minute condos available online, my mom had booked us a place for a few short days in Perdido Key, FL. Wallah! Franklin couldn't take off work with such late notice, so Mammers and I headed south with the kids.
It was not the best weather and we all wanted another day but we had a great time. Nora put her toes in the salt water for the first time and turned 10 months old in Florida. DFB has never loved the beach, swimming, etc like he did this trip and cried when we left Saturday morning. He ate his breakfast outside and just watched the waves. He loves the water like his mama. Westly and Madelyn Albright came with us and David Franklin loved having them there and so did I.
We didn't get much rest or relaxation but we had an adventure and a change of scenery and great together time. My mother took great care of us all and helped tremendously. She even wore the homemade bjorn on her walk on the beach- hence the bed sheet. Thank you mom for all of the sacrifices you make for us. We love you.

Happy Ears!
Nora had tubes put in her ears this morning. After multiple ear infections (8 the past 2 1/2 months, which is every two weeks!!) we had our ENT appointment made. We saw Dr. Monte on Thursday (yesterday) afternoon at 3:00. He said they were both infected to the possible point of rupture. He said she needed tubes and he wanted to do it soon. Well, we checked in to the hospital at 6 am this morning ready to roll!
Other than the unpleasant experience she had when she was waking up and the sinking feeling in my stomach I had when the nurse took her out of my arms- I'd say that was pretty easy breezy! We were home around 9:00 and all seems to be just fine with Little Miss.
She has been such a little trooper! Several of the the nurses and doctors commented on how sweet and good natured she is. She even made it easy on them and fell asleep before they took her back :)
Now we are hoping that she feels relief and has happy, clear ears ASAP!

Play time at home
We've been somewhat landlocked due to Nora's RSV and its taken a toll on David Franklin and me. We have both been pretty bored but look what happened today.... They are actually playing together!
Nora gets more and more fun in DF's eyes. Unless she takes his toy and puts it in her mouth. Then playtime OVER!
